Senior Electrical Engineer

 

Responsibilities

Be a member of a small team developing a revolutionary new handheld 3D scanner for the dental market. The key objective of this position is to effectively manage all electronic hardware aspects of the scanner development from early trials to preproduction prototypes.  Principal tasks include analog and digital architecture definition, design trade-off management, creation of schedules, task assignments, and progress/design review leadership. This is a hands-on role requiring excellent knowledge of the latest design techniques and software tools. This individual will be responsible for the implementation, test and documentation of all electrical aspects of the product, as well as vendor and subcontractor management. It is important for the Senior Electrical Engineer to interpret user input and incorporate product specifications/ requirements. The role will include coordination with other functional teams, including systems architecture, opto-mechanics and software, and the person will participate in a cross-functional Product Development Committee.

 

Requirements

Good communication skills, demonstrated success leading the design of complex analog and digital systems. Excellent academic credentials with an MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Experience with new product development processes. Experience in precision analog design, control system design, high bandwidth data transfer, CCD/CMOS camera design and programmable logic/DSP/FPGA required. Demonstrated problem solving skills and experience bringing a successful product to the market. Experience with project management methodology.

 

Preferences

At least three years of experience managing electrical engineers. Experience developing real-time vision and image processing systems. Knowledge of FDA requirements and procedures such as 510K. Experience with the following devices: high speed data acquisition, ORCAD, Multisim, analog sensors and actuators, laser drivers and control.  Design for low noise and EMI suppression.

 

Dimensional Photonics International (DPI) is a technology leader in rapid and ultra-accurate 3D measurement systems.
