QMT and DPI Announce AFI 5000 Partnership

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 31, 2006

WILMINGTON, MA, December 31, 2006. Quality Measurement Technology (QMT), an advanced metrology sales & service organization, and Dimensional Photonics International, Inc. (DPI), a leading producer of high performance digital shape scanners, have formed a sales & support partnership around DPI's AFI 5000 product line.

QMT has been serving the coordinate metrology needs of customers such as Boeing and Northrop Grumman for more than 20 years. Explains Tom Demogines, President of QMT, "digital shape scanning is fast becoming a critical coordinate measuring technology in the aerospace industry.  With the AFI 5000 product line in our portfolio, we can support customers who need quick, dense, 3D measurements of closely toleranced composite and metal components."  According to Alex Demogines, Technology Manager of QMT, "The AFI 5000 digital shape scanner delivers advanced levels of speed and accuracy for inspection, reverse engineering, process control and all types of 3D communication applications. QMT will provide onsite service, benchmark tests, product demonstrations, installation, training and technical support for AFI 5000 customers in the western region of the United States."

DPI shape scanners are based on a proprietary technology called Accordion Fringe Interferometry (AFI) developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).  AFI-based scanners create digital (CAD) models of physical objects using lasers to immerse an object in patterns of light, and digital cameras to record the way the patterns reflect off of the object's surface.  DPI's shape scanners can be used effectively in both manual and automated applications.

"DPI is very pleased to have a distribution partner with QMT's long-standing record of innovation and great customer support," says Olaf N. Krohg, Chairman and CEO of DPI.  "We look forward to a close, long-term relationship with QMT."
